When it comes to left-wing elitists, the mantra is do as I say not as I do.
A drive through Beverly Hills will prove this point. Nearly every mansion is protected by armed guards and massive walls.
But, Gavin Newsom is furious after this NBA star makes this hypocritical move.
Wealthy leftists almost always think they are above the law
The truth is, there is nothing more unbearable than a snotty liberal elitist.
These people often virtue signal about issues like homelessness and crime on social media, but when they are asked to open their doors they are nowhere to be found.
Athletes often fall into this category, especially when it comes to the NBA.
Just take a look at all of the nauseating protests that took place during the 2020 season.
Yet, nearly every NBA player lives behind large walls and armed security guards.
Most recently, NBA legend and Golden State Warriors Point Guard Steph Curry just proved how hypocritical liberal elitists often are.
Steph Curry is a very talented basketball player, but he has received criticism for his far-left politics. In 2020, Steph Curry was an outspoken supporter of the Joe Biden campaign.
Earlier this week, local California news reports revealed that Steph Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry opposed a low-income housing development that was going to be built near their $30 Million mansion in the upscale community of Atherton, California.
In a letter to Atherton officials, Curry wrote “We hesitate to add to the ‘not in our backyard’ (literally) rhetoric, but we wanted to send a note before today’s meeting. Safety and privacy for us and our kids continue to be our top priority and one of the biggest reasons we chose Atherton as home.”
Furthermore, Curry wrote, “Should that not be sufficient for the state, we ask that the town commits to investing in considerably taller fencing and landscaping to block sight lines onto our family’s property.”
Curry even admits to the NIMBY (Not In My Backyard) nature of his request but doesn’t care.
Walls and guns for me, not for thee
That is to say, Curry – who endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 – knows leftists like himself and Gavin Newsom typically dismiss the general public’s calls for basic security measures like “considerably taller fencing” – aka a border wall.
Many on the Left insist border walls – are “racist” and “divisive,” yet when it comes to them and their own family, the more walls, the better.
In other circumstances it’s fair to say Curry would be aghast that someone would want to stop a low-income housing development in their backyard, and virtue signaling about helping the homeless.
Curry’s letter shows that signaling and image are what that’s usually about.
