Democrats can keep completely unworkable theories alive for one decade after the next.
But one mayor just snapped.
And Eric Adams just made one jaw-dropping announcement that proves Republicans broke this blue city.
Democrats in northern states have spent years mocking Republicans over their concerns about border security.
But over the past year a group of Republican governors have put all that swagger coming out of so-called “sanctuary cities” to the test.
Governors from Texas, Florida, and Arizona started bussing illegal aliens to big blue cities.
While the numbers arriving in so-called “sanctuary cities” like New York City, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. are a mere drop in the bucket compared to the influx overwhelming border communities in border states, it’s already proven enough to completely overwhelm the Democrats who have been essentially pushing for open borders.
Now Big Apple Mayor Eric Adams is pushing the panic button.
There’s an ending if you want it
Over the past year more than 110,000 illegal aliens have poured into his city of about 8.4 million people.
According to Adams, the endless flow of illegals is going to utterly “destroy” America’s biggest city.
“Let me tell you something, New Yorkers. Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City,” Adams declared during a Town Hall meeting.
“We had a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut. Every service in this city is going to be impacted. All of us,” Adams explained. “It’s going to come to your neighborhoods. All of us are going to be impacted by this. I said it last year when we had 15,000. I’m telling you now with 110,000. The city we knew we’re about to lose. And we’re all in this together.”
However, rather than admit that Democrats have been wrong to encourage lawless behavior, Adams placed the blame for this crisis squarely on the shoulders of Republican Governors.
Blaming the messengers from red states
“What happened? It started with a madman down in Texas, decided he wanted to bus people up to New York City,” Adams claimed. “One hundred ten thousand migrants. We have to feed, clothe, house, educate the children, wash their laundry sheets, give them everything they need, health care. And this team here, we stated, let’s do everything possible before we have to push it out into neighborhoods and communities. Month after month, I stood up, and I said, ‘This is going to come to a neighborhood near you.’”
Of course, the fact that Democrats in a city as big as NYC are throwing a fit over getting a mere 110,000 of the millions of illegal aliens pouring over the border is breathtakingly ironic.
Abbott’s secretary quickly fired back at the mayor via a statement provided to Fox News.
“The hypocrisy of Mayor Adams is astounding,” Andrew Mahaleris wrote. “Mayor Adams was proud to tout his self-described sanctuary city status until Texas began busing migrants to New York City to provide relief to our overrun and overwhelmed border communities.”
“With millions of residents, New York is only dealing with a fraction of what our small border communities deal with on a day-to-day basis. Instead of complaining about 13,000 migrants sent from Texas, Mayor Adams should be calling out his party leader, President Biden, who has been flying planeloads of migrants all around the country and oftentimes in the cover of night, straining state and local resources across the country,” he continued. “Until President Biden steps up and does his job, Texas will continue busing migrants to sanctuary cities to provide relief to our overwhelmed border towns.”
As of October 2022, an estimated 5.5 million illegal aliens had entered the country since Joe Biden took over the Oval Office and that number is increasing drastically on a daily basis.
