Democrats are uniquely talented at finding inexplicably illogical policy positions.
And recently they decided to stake their reputation on one real boondoggle of a plan.
Now Eric Adams just had humble pie for breakfast when he made this astonishing announcement.
For years Democrats in big cities far from the border have been congratulating themselves on their largesse while claiming to be “sanctuary cities” for illegal aliens.
However, when a handful of Republican governors who had illegal aliens pouring into their states thanks to Joe Biden’s illegal open borders policy decided to give their northern neighbors a reality check, things changed fast.
The governors started shipping illegal aliens to New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Denver.
They quickly revealed that leftist elites are unwilling to follow through on their promises when push comes to shove.
Democrats trying to get back to what was their plan all along
Now the mayor of the biggest city in the nation just capitulated with an admission that he’s doing everything he can to get rid of illegal aliens who are now living the good life at taxpayer expense.
Mayor Eric Adams recently announced that New York City is opening a “reticketing center” offering to book flights to anywhere in the world in a bid to get them out of the Big Apple.
According to The City officials “quietly started diverting migrants from the Roosevelt Hotel over the weekend, telling them they could find shelter at a new location where instead they’re only offered a ticket out of town.”
It’s almost guaranteed illegal migrants will refuse to book any sort of international destination.
However, the Democrats orchestrating that effort will be sure to push cheap tickets to red states where they can help transform the voting base in those areas.
State border wars will happen over this
Of course, the city’s apparent generosity is largely fueled by the fact that New Yorkers painted themselves into a corner with a constitutional amendment that put taxpayers on the hook to either house illegal aliens or pay to ship them out of the state.
It’s yet another way the Biden Regime has managed to make America’s wealth evaporate into thin air.
Other big cities are likely to follow NYC’s lead, kicking off a cycle where taxpayer dollars are burned constantly shuffling illegal aliens around the country—eventually sparking state border wars.
Despite what’s at stake, it’s highly unlikely the Biden Regime will remedy the situation through deportation.
But that failure could well turn into a gift to the 2024 GOP Presidential nominee’s campaign as even blue state voters become desperate for a real solution.
