Eric Adams got torn to shreds by one Fox anchor after a failed swipe at DeSantis

Eric Adams is having a rough week.

Ron DeSantis came to his city and took his shine.

And Adams got torn to shreds by one Fox anchor after a failed swipe at DeSantis.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is in no position to take shots at other politicians.

He has done little to address the crime problem eating away at his city’s population.

Nevertheless, Adams rebuked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis upon his visit to the Empire State.

Adams tweeted, “Welcome to NYC, [Governor DeSantis], a place where we don’t ban books, discriminate against our LGBTQ+ neighbors, use asylum seekers as props, or let the government stand between a woman and health care. We’re happy to teach you something about values while you’re here.”

DeSantis did not reference Adams by name, but offered a response that Adams could not defend, writing, “I visited Staten Island to talk about how law & order has been central to FL’s success. FL leads the nation in protecting [law enforcement officers] & our crime rate is at a 50-year low, while NYC saw a 23% surge in major crime in 2022. Anti-police politicians should stop catering to the woke mob.”

Fox host went in hard

However, Fox Business host Charles Payne felt that DeSantis did not go far enough in his takedown of Adams.

Payne tore into Adams with an epic rant.

He began, “Let’s start with ‘a place where you don’t ban books’…You might as well ban them in New York City because our kids can’t read. Ban them and burn them because you don’t teach our kids how to read, what the hell good are books in the first place?”

A study showed that an eye-popping 65% of 4th graders cannot read at grade level, and many are barely literate.

Thanks to Democratic politics and teachers’ unions, interventions that could fix the problem are being blocked.

Payne continued, “LGBTQ — I don’t know any member of my family, friends, that LGBTQ — first minute they get, they’re off to Florida…They leave New York for Florida every weekend. They’ll slip out on a Friday and come back on a Saturday. Are you kidding me? Yeah, [Florida] is a big, bad, spooky place. Give me a break on that one.”

Payne is completely correct.

There is a large LGBTQ community in South Florida, and the idea that they are in fear of persecution from DeSantis is laughable.

In fact, Miami-Dade County, a historic Democratic stronghold, flipped Republican in 2022.

Payne added, “They tell the world, ‘Get here, cross that border, and we got your back’…Soon as they go to the richest places in America — New York City, Martha’s Vineyard — ‘We can’t afford them, we’re afraid, we’re clutching our pearls, how dare they send these people up here? You got a lot more money than these border towns…Democrats own this, 100%.”

Adams walked directly into that punch.

People are voting with their feet.

That’s why Adams put billboards in Florida begging for New Yorkers to return.
