America’s southern border with Mexico remains wide open, and thousands of illegal aliens flow into America on a daily basis.
Many of these illegal aliens are arriving in so-called sanctuary cities across the nation causing a long list of issues and controversies.
But, Eric Adams couldn’t believe his eyes after illegal aliens made this shocking move.
These illegal aliens are demanding nice accommodations as New Yorkers demand answers
America’s illegal immigration crisis has reached a fever pitch, especially in cities across the nation.
New York City in particular has seen a massive influx of illegal aliens in the last year or so, causing New Yorkers to panic.
Even Democrat lawmakers like Mayor Eric Adams cannot deny that there is an immigration crisis in the city, often blaming Joe Biden and the federal government for these woes.
Although New York officials claim that they are running out of space and funds for migrant shelters, they nonetheless established a brand new migrant shelter at Floyd Bennett Field.
However, when migrants arrived on Sunday, many turned around, refusing to stay at the shelter because the accommodations were not good enough for them.
One migrant told New York ABC 7 that “I’m grateful for what they’ve given me, but I can’t stay here.”
It is believed that these immigrants refused the accommodations because they were too far from public transit and retail stores.
Assembly Member Jaime Williams told ABC 7 that she was not pleased with the accommodations because, “Having your child in the southern end of Brooklyn here, when there is nothing, transit desert, is just not compatible.”
Public Advocate Jumaane Williams also spoke out about the accommodations, saying, “We really need the governor to realize the right to shelter is statewide and open up some spaces across the state. And we need the White House to help with a decompression strategy.”
She added, “When those things are not happening, you’re asking New York City to provide a national response and we just don’t have the ability to do that.”
New Yorkers are fed up with the immigration crisis that is costing them billions
In 2017, New York voted to become a so-called sanctuary state, allowing illegal aliens to live in the city without fear of deportation by state officials.
However, now that illegal aliens are on their front doorstep, the tune has changed considerably.
Eric Adams has openly claimed that illegal immigration is destroying New York City, and moves such as last Sunday’s refusal to accept expensive accommodations show that this problem will only get more expensive for the Big Apple.
