Eric Adams and Kathy Hochul are stunned as New Yorkers protest massive influx

Far-left politicians are so convinced of the righteousness of their causes that it appears they don’t even stop to consider the opinions of regular folks.

But if they did, what they would learn might be illuminating.

So now Eric Adams and Kathy Hochul are stunned as New Yorkers protest massive influx.

Joe Biden’s “open door” policy on our nation’s southern border has had disastrous effects.

Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants make their way across the border every year, in many cases bringing drugs along with them.

Even those who are otherwise law-abiding, aside from their border crossing, often overwhelm the government services in areas where they settle.

Public officials along the southern border, most notably Republican Governors Ron DeSantis of Florida and Greg Abbott of Texas, have been transporting some of the new arrivals to locations whose public officials have for years proclaimed as “sanctuaries” for illegal immigrants.

No “sanctuary” for law-abiding citizens

Since last Spring over 100,000 illegal immigrants have made their way to New York City, where Democrat Mayor Eric Adams and Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul have historically been willing to welcome them with open arms.

Not so any longer.

Those who remain in New York are expected to cost taxpayers $12 billion by 2025.

Hochul now decries the mass migration as an “ongoing crisis” and is imploring the federal government for aid.

Adams has been working overtime to find ways to pawn off the new arrivals elsewhere across the state.

One of the Mayor’s latest schemes has been to house the immigrants at the former St. John Villa Academy in Staten Island.

A judge had temporarily blocked that plan from coming to fruition but that decision was overturned by another judge on appeal.

Many residents cried foul and gathered to protest outside of the Mayor’s residence at Gracie Mansion.

Open-borders advocates showed up at the scene to counter-protest.

Other protesters shouted to the counter-protesters, “Take them into your house!”

One Staten Island resident told CBS News, “This is unfair. My tax dollars shouldn’t be going to this.”

All of this is occurring after Adams’ latest gambit to transport illegal immigrants to upstate Erie County, home of the city of Buffalo, went awry.

Two illegal immigrants were charged with sexual assault and the Erie County Executive demanded that Adams stop transporting them there.

In the end, far-left politicians who welcomed illegal immigrants to their “sanctuary” city and state are now living with the consequences of their own lofty rhetoric, and they want taxpayers from all across the United States to foot the bill for their own misguided policy.

That alone is all the more reason for Americans to demand that the federal government get the border under control.
