Although prostitution remains illegal in most parts of the nation, brothels operate in broad daylight in most American cities and communities.
A massive sex trafficking industry fuels these brothels, creating generations of depravity and poverty, which affects millions of Americans.
But, Elizabeth Warren’s jaw dropped after seeing this disturbing prison development.
These recent brothel crackdowns have sent shockwaves all across the nation
It is no secret that brothels continue to operate all across the nation, even though prostitution is illegal almost everywhere.
What many Americans do not realize is that these brothels are very well organized, and meticulously operated, attracting wealthy and powerful clientele.
On Wednesday, federal prosecutors revealed that several “high-end” brothels were busted in a wide-ranging operation spanning from the Boston area to Northern Virginia.
In total, three arrests were made, and many legal experts believe that more arrests could soon follow.
Acting United States Attorney Joshua Levy spoke out to the press about this sex ring, saying, “This commercial sex ring was built on secrecy and exclusivity, catering to a wealthy and well-connected clientele. Business was booming, until today.”
According to Prosecutors, the clientele paid a monthly fee and then paid hundreds of dollars for services at the moment of procurement.
Levy added, “Once the buyers were verified, they were texted and then allowed to place orders with commercial sex workers. They would choose the duration of the encounter they wanted, the types of services they wanted, and they also would receive a menu of different options and different women they could purchase.”
Even more troubling, court documents show that customers ranged from average Joe’s to people with significant power and authority.
One affidavit claimed, “These customers spanned a wide array of different professional disciplines. Some of these professional disciplines included, but are not limited to, politicians, pharmaceutical executives, doctors, military officers, government contractors that possess security clearances, professors, lawyers, business executives, technology company executives, scientists, accountants, retail employees, and students.”
Investigators are taking a deep look at customers as well as the women who participated in these brothels in order to determine if further charges will be pressed.
The Defendants in the case include Han Lee, 41, of Cambridge; Junmyung Lee, 30, of Dedham; and James Lee, 68, of California. These three men face federal sex trafficking charges, among others.
Many state lawmakers including Senator Elizabeth Warren have been remarkably quiet about this case, causing many to question her support of such operations. Many Democrats across America support legalized sex work, thinking that such legalization could benefit women and potential customers.
What these brothels reveal about America’s stance on prostitution
Prostitution has existed since the dawn of time, however, remains illegal in most developed parts of the world.
Prostitution remains illegal for good reason, as it destroys the lives of prostitutes and their families, and often funds larger criminal enterprises.
Although these brothel bust-ups are a step in the right direction, it reveals that there are likely many more operating right under your nose.
