Far-Left policies don’t work, and when they fail things get awkward in blue states.
That’s because finger-pointing is often between elected officials of the same political party.
And a Democrat feud just erupted when Eric Adams made one demand that declared war on Kathy Hochul.
Illegal immigrants from Texas have made for an awkward situation in New York City.
Mayor Eric Adams is upping the pressure on Governor Kathy Hochul (D) to make other parts of the sanctuary state of New York bear some of the burden.
While in El Paso, Texas, Adams said, “Some of our cities are suffering. They’re losing populations. But if this is done, is done effectively, and the dollars come in to support those who are helping migrants and asylum seekers to incentivize this help, we believe we can help those cities that are struggling and at the same time, give people a good start in this country.”
Essentially what Adams is saying is that if the state is going to open up the floodgates to the third world there is plenty of real estate available outside of the confines of his city.
More arrivals than ever seen
According to Adams, the city was “seeing more people arrive than we have ever seen, including 835 asylum seekers arriving on one single day alone” last week.
City records show that 40,200 illegal migrants have arrived since the spring, with 26,900 housed in taxpayer-funded emergency shelters as of Sunday.
Of course, this is just a very small fraction of the hundreds of thousands arriving monthly along the Mexican border.

On Tuesday the Governor, having just narrowly come out on top in the November election, outlined her agenda for nearly an hour but made no mention of the rapidly spiraling immigration problem.
When asked about the omission the following day, Hochul said, “In my State of the State, there’s hundreds of other proposals for talking about. I was focusing on my key signature areas that have broad, statewide interest — housing, mental health challenges, the child care and the minimum wage.”
“She’s got to wake up and she’s not.”
Some Democrats liken Hochul’s dithering to dereliction of duty on the immigration issue.
City Councilman Robert Holden (D-Queens) says, “She’s got to wake up and she’s not. My Democratic colleagues haven’t stepped up – in the city and state – they haven’t come up with any demands on the migrant crisis. Hochul should be visiting Washington along with other governors and forcing President Biden to come up with some meaningful solution. Not just rhetoric, actual plans!”
It truly is a case of a remarkable lack of leadership from the President on down to Democrat governors and local officials.
New York City and New York State are now having to deal with just a fraction of the consequences of policies that their elected officials have foisted upon the rest of the country for decades.
Here’s to hoping that the sobering reality of the consequences of open borders in their own backyards makes New York Democrats stop and reassess their approach to this serious issue.
