Will Smith unleashed Pandora’s box when he slapped Chris Rock in the middle of the Oscars.
Dave Chappelle was the first comedian to get assaulted onstage after the incident.
And Chappelle’s attacker is mounting one defense that will infuriate you.
Comedians warned that Will Smith set a horrendous precedent for performers when he attacked Chris Rock while he was telling jokes onstage at the Academy Awards.
Soon after, Dave Chappelle was tackled during a set at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Isaiah Lee, Chappelle’s deranged attacker, had a knife in his possession, but was only given a slap on the wrist because far-left prosecutor George Gascón refused to charge him with a felony.
Now Lee is claiming that he is bisexual, and he attacked Chappelle because of his comments about the LGBT community during his standup specials.
Lee said during a jailhouse interview, “I identify as bisexual . . . and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering . . . I wanted him to know that next time, he should consider first running his material by people it could affect.”
The New York Post reported that “Lee said he expected to have a ‘good time’ at the May 3 ‘Netflix is a Joke’ show — but he grew angry and frustrated as Chappelle joked about his prior controversies with the LGBTQ community, as well as homelessness.”
Lee is attempting to appeal to the “woke” Left for clemency for his charges – he’s wanted for attempted murder in a separate incident that occurred months earlier.
Lee continued, “I’m also a single dad and my son is 5 . . . [Homelessness is] a struggle and I wanted Dave Chappelle to know it’s not a joke.”
Lee’s defense is absurd.
Comedians can joke about whatever they want if they can make it funny, but the Left is attempting to change that.
Lee might be able to pull off his insane justification because Gascón’s office will be handling the attempted murder charge, which is the more serious offense.
And Gascón, one of the radical prosecutors bankrolled by George Soros, is notoriously in favor of pro-crime policies.
Luis Angel Hernandez, a convicted murder who killed a delivery driver, praised Gascón on a prison phone conversation that was recorded.
Hernandez said, “I’m going to get that n****’s name on my face. That’s a champ right there…F***ing Gascón…That’s the n**** right there, bro. He’s making historic changes for all of us, bro.”
Lee’s infuriating excuse just might work if he can convince radical organizations to get behind him.
