Democrats in big blue cities came up with one head-scratching legal theory and they’re sticking to it.
Now, average citizens are more than fed up with pro-crime policies.
And one video captured that sentiment with a Chinese woman’s deadly joyride.
The woke “equity” police don’t want anyone punished for their crimes these days out of fear that racial quotas won’t be perfectly balanced.
But decriminalizing supposedly minor traffic violations in the Northwest has helped throw fuel on the fire when it comes to emboldening those choosing a career in criminal activity.
The sinking respect for the rule of law is abundantly apparent to anyone who has visited major cities—and even some rural areas—in Washington or Oregon over the past three years.
Now one woman accused of murder is on the run — and what she did is only increasing the calls for a return to real law enforcement in Washington state.
Police say Ting Ye was drunk when she went whizzing through Seattle in a 2020 Porsche 911 traveling at 100 miles per hour.
The woman, who is a citizen of China, blew through several intersections before she smacked into a cement barricade.
Traffic cameras captured the moment the impact sent her vehicle flying.
It landed upside down killing her passenger, Yabao Liu.
Only days after the wreck, Ye fled back to China in an apparent move to avoid being charged with murder.
While even pro-crime George Soros style district attorneys would tend to agree that Ye should be charged with vehicular manslaughter, the sluggish pace the justice system has been calibrated to operate at in big cities gave the 26-year-old the opportunity she needed to slip authorities.
Understaffed and underappreciated, police in most large cities these days are overwhelmed with work.
In this case, it took an investigator a solid week to get around to meeting with medical personnel who responded to the accident scene.
By the time a warrant for her arrest was entered into the system, Ye had already made her way to Canada where she hopped on a flight back to China.
Prosecutors asked that Ye be held with a $2 million dollar bail, but police soon realized they had missed their opportunity to administer justice.
“At that point, she was not free to leave, but she had already left,” Bellevue Officer Seth Tyler told the Seattle Times.
When Democrats caved into socialist demands to “defund the police” a few years back, they created a situation that made it impossible for law enforcement officers to do their jobs.
Now the consequences of those actions are becoming crystal clear—and Ye just proved they’ve made it possible to get away with anything, including murder.
