Vehicle thefts have spiked all across the nation as crime continues to plague most American communities.
Drivers are constantly looking for new and creative ways to get a grip on these car thefts to ensure they do not become the next victim.
But one car thief left embarrassed after his getaway was foiled for a funny reason.
These Chicago carjackers could not get past this time-tested gen-z and millennial theft prevention device
Carjackings have become a part of everyday life in the Windy City.
And ever since the death of George Floyd in 2020, these heinous crimes have only become more common and vicious.
Just last Tuesday, two suspects were apprehended after embarking on a crime spree across Chicago’s gold coast involving at least two car thefts.
According to Chicago’s ABC 7, the first carjacking occurred as “A 26-year-old woman was entering her vehicle when police said two male suspects approached on foot and demanded her keys and property.”
ABC 7 added that “Police said the woman was pushed to the ground and kicked several times before a passing vehicle startled the suspects and they fled on foot. The woman declined EMS treatment at the scene.”
However, what happened in the next carjacking has made headlines across the nation.
ABC 7 reported that “In the second incident, a 41-year-old man was sitting in his 2008 Acura sedan in the 1400-block of North Astor Street at about 7:39 p.m. when police said two armed male suspects entered the car and demanded the victim’s wallet.”
“The victim exited the vehicle and the suspects attempted to flee in the vehicle but were unable because of the car’s manual transmission,” ABC 7 added.
A third carjacking occurred later than night, however police were able to locate the stolen vehicle and suspects later than evening.
Based on the results of the second carjacking, it seems as if the most reliable anti-theft device in today’s world is a manual transmission, which many young people have no idea how to operate these days.
All joking aside, the good news is that nobody was seriously hurt as a result of these armed carjackings, however many Chicago residents fear that the suspects will get off without any serious punishment.
Law abiding citizens have to live in a state of fear as a result of Chicago’s reluctance to get a grip on crime
Carjackings such as the ones that occurred along the golden coast on Tuesday are a part of normal life for Chicago residents.
Lawmakers in Chicago have completely failed to get a grip on crime, allowing criminals to run wild without any fear of prosecution.
As crime continues to grow in Chicago and other large cities, residents are desperately fleeing for parts of America that do not tolerate such depravity.
