Congressman Byron Donalds is positioning himself as one of the rising stars in the Republican Party.
It can only get brighter after this scathing indictment he just delivered over a leftist priority in the District of Columbia.
And Byron Donalds just laced Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over this “mockery” D.C. Democrats are pushing to make of America.
The Republicans are back in charge of the House.
They’re already making noise and investigating the nonsense of the past few years.
Florida Congressman Byron Donalds is helping set the tone, unafraid to go into CNN and MSNBC and strongly defend his conservative positions.
Recently, Donalds challenged CNN’s Don Lemon on the failure of Joe Biden’s immigration policy.
He doubled down on the Democrats’ failure during a recent appearance with Fox News host Laura Ingraham.
The two discussed noncitizens voting in elections – something that’s become a high priority for Democrats in blue states and cities, including Washington, D.C.
The host played a clip of Democrat Socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who said, “The D.C. city council has the right to determine its policy for D.C. residents. And if any member of this body does not like that, they can feel free to change their registration, resign their post, and run for D.C. city council. They are singling out the residents of the District of Columbia and expanding in the history of disenfranchisement that goes all the way back to the legacy of slavery.”
Donalds wasted no time laying into her ridiculous argument.
Donalds said, “I’m quite sure people saw my disgust when I was rolling my eyes on national TV. They can’t just do what they want. This is a joke, and it’s a mockery of American democracy. We have never allowed in any jurisdiction noncitizens to vote. You have a situation right now where if you are illegal here in 30 days, you can vote. If you are a foreign national, you are here as an attache from Russia, from China, you now have the ability to vote in municipal elections in Washington and D.C. This is outrageous.”
The Democrats are indeed making a mockery of U.S. citizenship while flouting immigration law.
Donalds added, “[F]or the radical left to sit here and say, oh, well, run for office on city council in D.C., that is a joke. The D.C. city council has run amok. Look, the Senate didn’t do their job, but appropriations are coming around and this is not over yet. We are going to take a hard look at this because this cannot be allowed to just continue as if it’s okay in the United States. No other country in the world would allow noncitizens to vote in their elections.”
Some countries don’t even allow immigration, let alone allowing noncitizens to vote.
It is preposterous.
This ties directly into the Democrats’ open borders agenda.
They are openly attacking American national sovereignty.
Blue state elites might not welcome illegals in the walled-off enclaves that are their exclusive neighborhoods but they’ve made clear they want them in yours.
And they’re now demanding they get to vote.
