Nancy Pelosi once famously said of legislation, “We need to pass the bill to find out what’s in it!”
Legislation is often convoluted by design as it’s loaded up with kickbacks and favors to special interest groups that can sometimes only be uncovered by careful digging.
Now blue states are using taxpayer money to fund a cause that will make your blood boil.
The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act in March 2021 was signed into law by President Biden after it passed both Democrat-controlled Houses of Congress and included billions supposedly allocated to “safely” reopen schools.
But once the Left got ahold of the money, of course, how it was put to use got “massaged.”
In August, Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said New York’s plan to use the funds to “support K-12 schools and students laid the groundwork for the ways in which an unprecedented infusion of federal resources will be used to address the urgent needs of America’s children and Build Back Better.”
What started in New York spread to other blue states.
According to Fox News, “the law provided over $122 billion for the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER), which helped multiple states implement ‘implicit bias’ and ‘anti-racism’ training, among other programs, according to research from One Nation shared with and verified by Fox News Digital.”
Leave it to the Left to take money allocated to help communities bounce back from COVID and instead waste it on more racial gobbledygook in public schools.
According to Fox, at least $46.5 billion from the ARP ESSER fund has been allocated to 13 states, including California, New York, and Illinois, which are planning to use the funds to implement CRT in their schools.
The report found that, “The California Department of Education was awarded $15.1 billion in funding to implement its schools reopening plan, which included $1.5 billion for training resources for school staff regarding ‘high-need topics,’ like ‘implicit bias training.’”
“The California DoE used funds to ‘increase educator training and resources’ in subjects such as ‘anti-bias strategies,’ ‘environmental literacy,’ ‘ethnic studies,’ and ‘LGBTQ+ cultural competency,’ according to the plan,” the report continued. “The New York State Education Department (NYSED) was awarded $9 billion in funding to implement its reopening plan, which supported ‘putting DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) at the heart of NYSED’s work with’ all local education agencies.”
Isn’t it amazing how one after another, the minute these hard-left controlled states get taxpayer money they immediately put it to use indoctrinating children with their radical social agenda?
Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida is taking the opposite approach, signing anti-CRT legislation last week, making it clear that his administration believes in “education, not indoctrination.”
More strings and safeguards need to be attached to federal funding to ensure it isn’t misused and how these states are misusing it needs to be highlighted in the run up to the Midterm elections.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin is living proof that there is a market among everyday moms and dads for this fight, even in blue states.
Calling these ideas out for the poison they are and push-back is how to stop the radical Left.
