Joe Biden has taken it on the chin with his approval numbers.
He’s even catching flak from prominent people within his own party.
But Biden got his revenge on this Democrat Mayor for the fiery thing he said.
Eric Adams is currently being targeted by the big Democrat machine.
The outspoken New York Mayor had a bullseye slapped on his back by Democrat party bosses when he made a lot of noise about the illegal alien crisis that has thrown his city into chaos.
Now Brianna Suggs, Adams’s chief fundraiser, just had her Brooklyn home raided by the FBI.
A spokesman for the bureau confirmed that “we are at that location carrying out law enforcement action,” referring to Suggs’ home in Crown Heights.
The raid was allegedly part of a larger investigation regarding straw donors and illegal payments from foreign investors.
The New York Times reported that the feds “are conducting a broad public corruption investigation into whether Mayor Eric Adams’s 2021 election campaign conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal foreign donations.”
It’s difficult to imagine Adams being targeted if he hadn’t become such a nuisance.
The Times added that “[i]nvestigators also sought to learn more about the potential involvement of a Brooklyn construction company with ties to Turkey, as well as a small university in Washington, D.C., that also has ties to the country and to Mr. Adams. According to the search warrant, investigators were also focused on whether the mayor’s campaign kicked back benefits to the construction company’s officials and employees, and to Turkish officials.”
The Times reported that the FBI seized phones, laptops, folders, binders, and other documents from Suggs’ home.
In response to the investigation, Vito Pitta, a lawyer for Adams’s 2021 and 2025 campaigns, commented, “The campaign has always held itself to the highest standards…The campaign will of course comply with any inquiries, as appropriate . . . Mayor Adams has not been contacted as part of this inquiry.”
Suggs isn’t the only person in Adams’ orbit to get investigated.
George Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted Eric Ulrich, Adams’s former buildings commissioner and senior adviser, on 16 felony counts, including charges of conspiracy and taking bribes.
Some have speculated that the lawfare against Adams is a result of his broadsides against the Biden administration and the “progressive” Left for the migrant crisis.
During a public meeting, Adams said, “Let me tell you something, New Yorkers. Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City…We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month…We had a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut. Every service in this city is going to be impacted. All of us . . . It’s going to come to your neighborhoods. All of us are going to be impacted by this. I said it last year when we had 15,000. I’m telling you now with 110,000. The city we knew, we’re about to lose. And we’re all in this together.”
Adams ran as a supposed moderate and defeated candidates on his left flank.
This could be the revenge of the open borders Left that invites endless illegal immigration regardless of the short-term consequences.
