Glenn Youngkin became governor of Virginia in large part because of the Democrats’ arrogance regarding the schools.
Former Virginia governor and top Democrat Terry McAuliffe said during a public event that parents shouldn’t be involved in education.
Democrats and their media allies have been scrambling on defense ever since conservative activists Christopher Rufo and others began exposing Critical Race Theory (CRT) and radical gender ideology’s links to neo-Marxist doctrine.
They have simultaneously argued that these radical concepts are not being taught in schools, but also it’s a good thing that they are being taught in schools.

Since then, advocacy groups like Moms for Liberty have become a bulwark against the educational excesses of radical leftists.
But leftist radicals keep doubling down.
Now a judge in Maryland announced that parents cannot opt their children out of radical LGBTQ+ indoctrination.
Biden-appointed federal Judge Deborah L. Boardman said that parents with children in the Montgomery County Public School system may not exempt their kids because their “asserted due process right to direct their children’s upbringing by opting out of a public-school curriculum that conflicts with their religious views is not a fundamental right…The no-opt-out policy does not pressure the parents to refrain from teaching their faiths, to engage in conduct that would violate their religious beliefs, or to change their religious beliefs. The policy may pressure them to discuss the topics raised by the storybooks with their children, but those discussions are anticipated, not prohibited, by the parents’ faiths…The parents are not pressured into violating their religious beliefs in order to obtain the benefits of a public education.”
Judge rules policies are permitted to “pressure them [dissenting parents] to discuss the topics raised by the storybooks with their children”
So the far-left indoctrination will be shoved down the children’s throats whether the parents like it or not.
Becket Law, a firm involved in the fights for religious liberty, has several cases regarding curricula in the Montgomery County Public School system.
What lurks in the storybooks?
Becket wrote in a statement, “In fall 2022, the Montgomery County Board of Education announced over 20 new ‘inclusivity’ books for its pre-K through eighth grade classrooms. But rather than focusing on basic civility and kindness, these books champion pride parades, gender transitioning, and pronoun preferences for children. For example, one book tasks three- and four-year-olds to search for images from a word list that includes ‘intersex flag,’ ‘[drag] queen,’ ‘underwear,’ ‘leather,’ and the name of a celebrated LGBTQ activist and sex worker. Another encourages fifth graders to discuss what it means to be ‘non-binary.’ Other books advocate a child-knows-best approach to gender transitioning, telling students that a decision to transition doesn’t have to ‘make sense’ and that doctors only ‘guess’ when identifying a newborn’s sex anyway.”
If there’s merit to these religious liberty and parental rights advocates’ charges, it could be just a small sliver of what’s happening in public school systems around the country.
Millions of parents likely have no idea how radical their kids’ school curricula could be.
But they’re slowly waking up.
