It’s long been said that the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is when good people do nothing.
Too many have been silent and have refused to condemn barbaric acts that are occurring overseas and in our own country.
Now, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was left unusually speechless as a NYC kid is the latest victim of an antisemitic attack.
The terrorist attack in Israel on October 7th by the Palestinian extremist group Hamas has had reverberations around the globe.
The attack was responsible for deaths and injuries of thousands of innocent people and, as our Middle Eastern ally acts against the group, that has raised the ire of Palestinian sympathizers.
AOC just showed which side she is on
Here in the United States, nine Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives voted against a resolution that expressed support for Israel and condemned the militant group’s attack.
The group included prominent members of the far-left “Squad,” including the very loud online voice of the Left, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
In a statement earlier this month, AOC called for an “immediate ceasefire and de-escalation” between the two sides, but this was effectively a sort of mealy-mouthed acceptance of the Palestinian extremists’ attack because her calls for a “ceasefire” came immediately after the terrorist attack occurred and before Israel could take any retaliatory action.
Against this backdrop of unfortunate and chaotic world events, antisemitic attacks have been on the rise, and the most recent one has occurred in AOC’s own backyard, leaving her unusually speechless.
Antisemitic attack in AOC’s backyard while she refuses to condemn Hamas on record
Police say that a teenager threatened a young boy with a knife and yelled “I will kill you, Jew” on Monday in New York City.
It happened at a middle school and the victim’s mother says that her daughter was a target as well.
Chaya Sundroy emigrated from Israel ten years ago and described the scene, saying, “My kids were shaking, they were crying. They asked why – we didn’t do nothing to him, why they say that, why they want to killed us. They were really, really scared about it.”
Sundroy said that the teen also yelled “Heil Hitler” at her daughter.
Others yelled, “Allah Akbar” in front of the children as this was happening.
Police are searching for the suspect and investigating the case but have not yet made an arrest.
The Crown Heights Brooklyn neighborhood where this incident took place is home to a significant Hasidic Jewish population and the site of a planned pro-Palestinian protest this weekend on Shabbat, which is the Jewish day of rest.
The planned protest, “Flood Brooklyn For Gaza,” is scheduled Saturday afternoon at the Brooklyn Museum in Crown Heights.
A source told the website COLlive.com, “Jews should definitely avoid the area.”
How many more antisemitic threats will it take for AOC to respond?
