Some guys just can’t get enough time in the limelight.
And San Francisco’s contribution to the American political scene is one of the worst.
Now America’s most needy politician just found a new way to get into the headlines as he circles Joe Biden.
Close to the Midterm elections California Governor Gavin Newsom suddenly dropped from the 24/7 news cycle.
After RINO Republicans effectively killed their party’s get out the vote effort, Joe Biden latched onto the lack of a Republican wave as a sort of mandate on his policies.
That left Gavin Newsom floundering.
Even though he claimed to have “subzero” interest in running for President, Nancy Pelosi’s nephew was clearly and aggressively campaigning across the nation as tactfully as possible.
But now his hand has been forced and he just changed tactics in a brilliant move that gets him as close to the center of power as possible.
Gavin Newsom tells Biden not to worry about a primary challenge from him in 2024
During an interview with a Politico reporter he began to roll out his latest political campaign—claiming he’s not running for President in 2024 while simultaneously making sure he’s getting more press than any other possible candidate.
“I’ve told everyone in the White House, from the chief of staff to the first lady,” he told Politico’s Jonathan Martin.
The intrepid reporter also claims to have just happened to stumble upon an election night conversation when the California governor was reassuring a frail and frightened Joe Biden that he doesn’t have to fear a devastating primary challenge in 2024.
“So after addressing the cameras, Newsom found himself standing outside his motorcade on a chilly-for-California night, speaking on his cell phone and telling the soon-to-be-80-year-old President, worry not, he was on board,” Martin wrote.
Is Newsom angling to be Kamala’s replacement?
“‘I’m all in; put me in coach,’ Newsom told Biden. ‘We have your back.’”
That advanced political play is even more reason to believe getting stuck with the most wildly radical leftist President ever is a real future possibility.
Newsom clearly knows his stuff.
Historically candidates who declare their intentions early are wiped out before they even get started.
One of the most critical challenges any serious candidate faces is managing to get into the race in time to become a household name without getting ripped to shreds before the first major debate.
Instead of putting himself in that precarious position he’s sidling up as close to the center of power where he can bide his time while keeping his friends close—and his enemies closer.
