Democrats are keen to paint Republicans and conservatives as hateful bigots wherever possible, and usually on the flimsiest and most questionable evidence.
That’s why it’s so rich when the shoe is on the other foot with actual wrongdoing by leftists.
Now all hell has broken loose over a jaw-dropping audio leak that has Dems in this “blue utopia” eating their own.
U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) has called on multiple L.A. City Council Democrats to resign after audio leaked of the city council president making racist remarks about black people.
L.A. City Council President Nury Martinez was caught on an audio recording comparing the adopted black son of council member Mike Bonin to a monkey.
Later, she called Bonin, a gay white man, a “little b****” and said he is raising his child like a “little white kid.”
Not really a resignation
Martinez has since resigned as president but still remains on the council.
Padilla said, “I am appalled at the racist, dehumanizing remarks made by Los Angeles City officials and leaders that were made public yesterday. As a father, I am offended that an innocent child was the target of these remarks. At a time when our nation is grappling with a rise in hate speech and hate crimes, these racist comments have deepened the pain that our communities have endured. Los Angeles deserves better. I call on Los Angeles city Council members Nury Martinez, Kevin DeLeon, and Gil Cedillo to resign and take full responsibility.”

The LA Times reported that DeLeon and Cedillo were part of the conversation during the recorded segment but Cedillo wasn’t actually speaking and says he didn’t recall the conversation.
At one point, DeLeon says that Bonin treats his black child as an accessory, the same way one would treat a Louis Vuitton handbag.
Martinez also says that Bonin brings his child around during Black History Month.
Seeking to distance themselves from the explosive political fallout of these comments, both candidates for the Los Angeles mayoral race have called on the three Democrats to resign.
Teachers Union bosses jump on chance to virtue-signal while continuing to hobble students
Joining in the pile-on pushing for resignations is the United Teachers Los Angeles, the powerful union representing Los Angeles Unified School District teachers.
In a statement, Martinez said, “I sincerely apologize to the people I hurt with my words: to my colleagues, their families, especially to Mike, Sean, and your son. As a mother, I know better and I am sorry. I know this is the result of my own actions. I’m sorry to your entire family for putting you through this.”
DeLeon also apologized, saying, “I regret appearing to condone and even contribute to certain insensitive comments made about a colleague and his family in private. I’ve reached out to that colleague personally.”
All well and good, but we all know those apologies wouldn’t be near enough if any of those local pols had an (R) next to their name.
In the end, this is just one more data point proving that when Democrats pitch a fit about supposed bad behavior on the part of Republicans, they are actually the worst offenders.
