After four years in the wilderness, the GOP is finally starting to counter the excesses and questionable conduct they allege were rampant under Democrat rule.
Adam Schiff is one Congressman in particular who stands out from the rest of the pack as the center of numerous alleged misdeeds.
And Schiff will be furious after this bold action taken by Matt Gaetz.
Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has introduced legislation that would call on the House to vote on if Schiff should be banned from accessing and viewing any and all classified information.
This move comes as Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) blocked Adam Schiff from sitting on the House Intelligence Committee.
Preventing Extreme Negligence with Classified Information Licenses (PENCIL)
The PENCIL Act, or “Preventing Extreme Negligence with Classified Information Licenses” Resolution is a salute to former President Donald Trump’s nickname of Schiff, “Pencil-Neck.”
Before introducing the legislation, Gaetz said, “Congressman Adam Schiff led the effort for years to weaponize lies from the Clinton campaign and a corrupt Department of Justice to smear President Trump while destroying any trust the country had left in America’s intelligence agencies. Speaker McCarthy kept his promise to remove Rep. Schiff from the Intelligence Committee, and with the PENCIL Resolution, we will express the sense of Congress that he should be barred from accessing any classified information at all. He can no longer be trusted by his colleagues in Congress or the American people.”
While it might be easy to dismiss Gaetz’s action as little more than a stunt and a retaliation for years of Schiff’s partisan handling of his committee chairmanship, there’s more than initially meets the eye here.
In a recent Fox News appearance, former CIA Director and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused the California Congressman of leaking classified information.
“Schiff should be nowhere near serving on the Intelligence Committee”
Pompeo said, “During my time as CIA director and secretary of state, I know that he leaked classified information that had been provided to him. It’s a complicated process, right? It’s difficult to pin down precisely what happened. But I could tell you that when we provided information to him and to his staff, it ended up in places it shouldn’t have been with alarming regularity. We could see it. In the end, I decided, I held back information from them as a result. The fact that Schiff was the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee almost ruined that committee. Schiff should be nowhere near serving on the Intelligence Committee. I don’t think he should be seeing classified information.”

In the end, Schiff has no one to blame for his behavior over the past four years but himself.
Kudos to Gaetz for highlighting Schiff and everything wrong with the corruption between Congressional Democrats and the Department of Justice.
